As a full-time family that lives, travels and works on the road, having reliable internet is a must. When we decided to sell everything, buy an RV, and travel the US one of the first things we researched was internet.
Austin works a full-time remote job that requires him to have fast internet for zoom meetings, conference calls, and more. We started researching on google and then progressed to watching as many RV related internet videos on YouTube as we could. What we discovered is how you travel and where is the biggest driver in what type of internet you choose. There are multiple different options from mobile must have (our first source) to Verizon home internet (which is what we have now) and starlink.
Having internet on the road is by the far the biggest question we get asked. Meeting and chatting with other rvers is how we found out about the Verizon home internet package. Most of our friends in this community use starlink. While this is a great option for us the cost was too great to not guarantee internet in all locations we travel.
The internet we use is the Verizon home internet. This is a cube box that we pay $35/month for. This is unlimited internet that we have been using for about 2 years now. It seems to work everywhere we go with little to no issues with service. This is the cheapest option we have used and has been the best.
Working and homeschooling from the road has its own set of difficulties so eliminating a problem with internet was a huge relief for us. This is now something that we do not worry about and highly recommend this as an option if you are currently searching for a reliable internet solution.
